Primary Level
Details of the county's 41 primary/national schools can be found on www.educationireland.ie. This impressive coverage includes a number of Gaelscoilanna, or Irish speaking schools which offer a comprehensive education in the Irish language.

Post Primary / Secondary Schools
The county has 9 post-primary/secondary schools. Four are located in Dungarvan and two in Tramore with the others in centres throughout the County including Kilmacthomas and Lismore. Further Training
Anyone wishing to undertake further education will have the option of considering a variety of PLC (Post Leaving Certificate) courses and a wide range of CERT (Centre of Excellence for applied Research and Training) programmes offered by County Waterford Vocation Educational Committee (VEC). Contact County Waterford VEC on: www.wd-vec.ie. Further afield, a range of courses are available from institutions such as, Cork College of Commerce, Skerries College among others.

The Centre for Entrepreneurship at Waterford Institute of Technology provides a framework and environment for entrepreneurs, researchers, academics and policy makers/implementers to engage in a mutually complementary manner to support economic growth and development in the South East region.

Third Level
Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) is a university-level institution with over 10,000 full-time and part-time students and 900 staff. The Institute offers research programmes in many areas up to doctorate level and has a worldwide reputation.
