Some people thrive on change, others hate it. One change I can recommend is living in County Waterford, just outside Dungarvan. Our family moved from England in 1999 and our only regret is that we didn't do it sooner! Though we liked where we lived we wanted a better life/work balance and a proper childhood for our two children (aged 6yrs & 8yrs at time of the move).

The nine miles I travel to work takes all of 20 minutes and I pass through stunning scenery. To travel that distance in any city would take considerably longer with the added joy of other stressed out motorists to contend with!

Within 40 minutes we can get to Cork or Waterford for a blast of city life; within 20 minutes we can be hill-walking in the Comeraghs, eating a fantastic meal at any number of restaurants or listening to Irish spoken as part of everyday life in An Rinn. Within 10 minutes we can be on a long strand with no-one else for company but the seabirds and dolphins ... Perhaps I'd better not say any more or too many people might want to try the change of pace!
