TerranuaLucia Quealy and John McGrath have worked in the construction industry in Dublin and London and have now returned to Dungarvan to set up their own construction company. This is what they have to say about the move to Dungarvan.

"Having lived and worked in London and Dublin it was not an easy decision for us to move back "home" to the Sunny South East, that was until we realized that what we stood to gain far outweighed anything we would lose. In the end, there simply was no contest. Do we miss the 14 mile journey to work in Dublin City that took anything from an hour to over two hours? Do we miss the arguments over whose turn it was to pick up the kids at the crèche and the feelings of panic and sheer frustration at the thought of a late pick up charge being slapped on us from the crèche? Do we miss the fact that in the winter months we never saw our children in daylight hours from Monday to Friday, as they were often in crèche from 7.30 am to 6.30 pm.? No we surely do not.

But what has been even more surprising is that the place we left some 20 years ago is nothing like the place we have come back to. It is so much more vibrant, prosperous, happening and has, perhaps unsurprisingly, become "home" to so many people, who quickly see the benefits of having it all, and lots more besides in the Crystal County. As adults we love the fact that in Dungarvan we are only 30 miles from Waterford Regional Airport and 50 miles form Cork Airport, not that you would want to be away from the fabulous blue flag beach at Clonea, or the breathtaking views and scenic drives around the Comeraghs, Dromanagh and the Vee. The children value the new found freedom afforded them having left the big smoke and all that goes with it. And, best of all, we have been able to start our own business, based in Dungarvan, which is something we had been wanting to do for some time. Check out our website on www.terra-nua.ie for more on how we might be able to "build" your own dream home!"
